Welcoming Change

In the past year and a half I have been in constant transition. Technically, my entire life I have been moving between countries and cultures, but none of my other transitions have seemed as big as these past months. In June 2018 I left Kenya, my home of the previous seven years, and went to visit Virginia, my American home. I then packed up my life and moving (alone) to Oregon to start another adventure. After some wonderful months in Oregon I packed up and went back to Kenya. I saw so many people I loved before I had to say goodbye indefinitely and get on a plane again. After my brief month and half in Kenya I now find myself in Virginia trying to figure out the next best step. Like I said, I have been in constant transition.

As I stand on the edge of yet another big transition, I cannot help try to meet this one differently.

As I stand on the edge of yet another big transition, I cannot help try to meet this one differently. Instead of tucking my arms close to my body I am learning to open my arms and lean in. As hard as these past months have been, they have been filled with so many good memories and so much love. I have experienced more growth than I could have asked for and most days I like the person I am becoming. So In preparation for this next big thing, whatever it may be, I am breathing deep and trying to remember to stay grateful for this life I live.
